It’s more than two years since the US-led invasion of Iraq, but the Iraqi people are still paying the price for Saddam’s 1991 war-making. The UN is about to consider how much of the $65 billion in outstanding reparations left over from the first Gulf War Iraq will be required to pay. The US-based grass root organisation “Voices in the Wilderness” believes that the debt should be cancelled, and has set out for the UN offices in Geneva to begin a fasting campaign.
