Treasury Secretary, Dr Ken Henry, handed his tax review to Wayne Swan in December last year. Since that time, the Government has been mulling over the 138 recommendations, deciding what to keep, what to put on the back burner, and what to definitively throw out the window. The review was originally commissioned to simplify the tax system and to make it more equitable. But given the Government has accepted only a few of the recommendations of the comprehensive report, just how committed is it to reform?
