Fortunately, the States and Federal governments have considered mental health as a priority in their agendas. It has also brought several support services for Australians with mental health issues, and pets as companions are not the exception.

An organisation in the Gold Coast called Parrots for Purpose started as Michael Clancy experienced mental health issues, and Archie, the parrot, helped him to control these issues. Now, Michael and his family are helping others with training and giving parrots to those experiencing mental health issues too.
