Hundreds gathered at Sydney’s Town Hall yesterday in support of the Syrian government and its’ President, Bashar al-Assad. Hands Off Syria is about protesting what they see as a wrongful portrayal of Syria in the mainstream media. They want the West to stay out of Syria and its politics. But plenty of Syrians oppose the President and his government. They say that President Assad has led a brutal regime that punishes Syrian civilians.
