Government looks to scrap income management scheme

The Federal Government is reviewing compulsory income management, and won’t guarantee it’s funding for more than a year. Established by the Howard Government as part of the Northern Territory Intervention, and expanded by the Labor Government, opponents have called the controversial scheme discriminatory and expensive. Now, the Labor Party is fighting to keep the scheme intact.
