Genetically Modified crops is an issue constantly on the political table and news has emerged that biotech companies Monsanto and Bayer have both applied to run crop trials in New South Wales this year. Contrary to public opinion, which is largely against GM foods and crops, it looks likely that the Agriculture Minister, Ian MacDonald, will approve these trials. But opposition is not just coming from environmental groups, but also from The Greens, Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Duncan Grey, and farmers across Australia. Cinnamon Nippard spoke to Jeremy Tager GE Campaigner with Greenpeace and Julie Newman from the Concerned Farmers Network.
