FTA impact on documentary making
This week, as Adelaide hosts the International Documentary Conference, a summit on International Co-Production is being held for members of the documentary film-making world. This summit will address issues faced by broadcasters, producers and directors working on international co-productions and it will attempt to find workable solutions to challenges often arising in the industry. Following the US?Australia Free Trade Agreement, which came into effect this January, one such challenge is how to encourage, if not enforce local content in National Network and Cable Station broadcasters programming. Speaking with Conference director, Heather Croll, the Wire’s David Jobling asked if the Free Trade Agreement continues to cause concern.
