Free preschooling could increase Indigenous attendance

A leading NGO is pushing the federal government to make preschool free for indigenous children. A new report by SDN Children’s Services found that fees were one of the main barriers impacting indigenous attendance and participation in early education programs. SDN says that the two days covered by government subsidised fees are not enough for some indigenous families, and that fees should be fully waived.
