Sanitary products are a necessity for women, but they come at a cost that often some cannot afford.

This is the reality of period poverty, and it is a challenge faced by women around the world.

A Scottish campaign is aiming to tackle the issue and change our attitudes about periods.

On The Ball began when Celtic diehards Erin Slaven, Mikaela McKinley, and Orlaith Duffy, petitioned their club to provide free sanitary products in their stadium.

Fast forward six months and over 30 clubs around the UK have signed on to the initiative.

With no signs of slowing down, it’s about time we all got #OnTheBall.
