Hitting the headlines in South Australia today has been the forced removal of Aboriginal people from the parklands surrounding Adelaide. With the Rudd Labor government set to apologise to the stolen generations, the act of the Adelaide City Council is being seen as both bad timing and insensitive. Councillor Anne Moran denies that anyone was evicted while Chris Talbot from Uniting Care Wesley says that not only were people evicted but their possessions were thrown in the rubbish. The Wire also spoke with Shirley Peasley from Aboriginal Centre, “Otherway”, and Jo Wicke, Chairperson of Homelessness SA about the issues around homelessness for both Indigenous and other Australians
