Chomsky says Australia should pay reparations to Afghanistan

Prominent US public intellectual and activist Noam Chomsky has told The Wire that Australia should pay reparations to Afghanistan for its involvement in the ongoing war in the country. Chomsky is currently in Australia to accept the Sydney Peace Prize and deliver the City of Sydney Peace Prize Lecture.

He is a strident critic of US foreign policy, and says that the invasion of Afghanistan was illegal anddeeply immoral. Chomsky is also a supporter of the Occupy Wall Street protests, and has arranged to meet withOccupy Sydney protestors during his stay.
