A new history curriculum to be rolled out by the Federal Government in all Australian schools has been criticised by indigenous groups and teachers for its lack of indigenous content. They believe the curriculum is not doing enough to teach students about the history of indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.

The Greens have introduced a motion to the Senate today for the curriculum to be revised in response to the concerns. Indigenous historian Bruce Pascoe told The Wire’s Lisa Burns why he believes these changes are important.
