Aboriginal elder and renowned actor Jack Charles has spoken out after being refused a cab in Melbourne twice yesterday, in what he calls blatant discrimination against Indigenous Australians.

The 2015 Senior Victorian Australian of the Year says it isn’t the first time this has happened to him, and that situations like these are ‘very embarrassing.’

Mr Charles wants to meet with police, taxi drivers and owners to formulate an Indigenous education program to better inform drivers about the history of his people.
