Betty Churcher began her long career as an artist, and while moving on to an illustrious career curating and promoting art, still enjoys travelling with a pencil and sketchbook. For her latest venture she has travelled around the country finding and sketching the best art hanging in the major galleries. She says drawing art is a way of impressing it into her memory as her sight fails, and also a way to truly see and understand the paintings she has loved.
