ACOSS conference ramps up pressure on govt to raise Newstart

Participants at the Australian Council of Social Service national conference have passed a resolution calling on the government to increase the level of Newstart payments in the May budget.
More than 400 participants supported the resolution to urgently legislate for a $50 increase in the rate of Newstart.
