Historic native title victory for the Yidinji people

The Yidinji people of far north Queensland today won an almost decade long battle for native title over land located in the Atherton Tablelands near Cairns. The application for native title was first made by the clan back in 2004. The successful claim will now enable the traditional owners to begin the process of ‘caring for country’ and reconnect with their land and ancestors.
