Will Obama’s visit to Myanmar help Rohingya?

The UN called them the most persecuted minority group in the world and the scale of violence against them since June this year confirms that. Despite this, little media attention has been given to the trials and suffering of the Rohingya people from western Myanmar. US President Barack Obama is being urged by activists to use his historic visit to Myanmar on the 19 November to raise human right’s issues in his discussions with government leaders . Muslim groups have highlighted the plight of the Rohingya who have lived for generations in Rakhine State on the coastline of western Myanmar.
