A public hearing was held in Canberra today to discuss the possibility of introducing new laws to protect whistleblowers. Currently on an Australian Government level, the protection for whistleblowers is very limited. Therefore, an enquiry is underway and will look into a rewards incentive scheme for whistleblowers who report wrongdoing in the workplace.
