As the ongoing traumatic events in Israel and Palestine – particularly in Gaza – continue, the mental health impacts are huge, and treatment must consider the impact of colonization, according to renowned Palestinian psychiatrist, author, and human rights advocate, Dr Samah Jabr.

She works in Palestine and says the role of health workers in Gaza is an inspiration for the rest of the world. Her new book is called Radiance in Pain and Resilience: The global reverberation of Palestinian historical trauma. It explores the intersections of trauma, collective resilience, and mental health.
