Yesterday at Parliament House in Canberra, Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs Ken Wyatt AM announced that new resources will be introduced to support Indigenous Australians who survived the Stolen Generations era get better access to general practitioners, dentists, and aged care providers.

In collaboration with The Healing Foundation and national peak bodies including the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian Dental Association, a suite of resources including factsheets have been developed to create greater awareness in providing clinical medical services for survivors without triggering trauma they experienced after being forcibly removed from their families and communities as children.

These resources which are also guided by several Stolen Generations survivors provide practical tips to inform medical practitioners to identify and understand the impacts of trauma for their patients, how to deliver quality care and what they should avoid.
