The Greens and the Nick Xenophon party stand to be very visible in the coming election, with the major parties taking more than usual interest in their policies and where their preferences are likely to flow. Political analyst Professor Clem Macintyre says the new Senate voting system will give voters much more direct power to decide exactly who they want in government, and where preferences will flow.
