US sanctions hinder humanitarian effort after Iran earthquake


Long-standing US-implemented sanctions on Iran have prevented global aid from reaching well-established charitable organisations in the aftermath of the quake.

Monetary donations are difficult and impractical to send to not-for-profits in the Middle-Eastern nation, as the country comes to grips with the recovery effort needed from Sunday’s natural disaster.
