Unrest in western China continued today, after serious violence on the weekend claimed over a hundred lives. Tensions have been running high in western China for years, where members of the Uighur ethnic group have long objected to the tight restrictions imposed on them by Beijing. In the aftermath of the violent protests, some Uighur activists fighting for basic rights and freedoms now fear being labeled as terrorists by the Chinese government.
