A Category 5 storm with wind speeds above 250km/h tore through Hong Kong, leaving trees uprooted, widespread flooding and destruction across southern China. The storm warning alerts by the Hong Kong Weather Observatory were at a signal T10, the highest it can be as the eye of the storm passes south of the city on Sunday. The strong winds and heavy rains have left 213 people injured but there have been no causalities at present. The storm departed the city early on Monday morning and left residents counting the cost.
