Europeans are gradually getting used to being together as the European Union dissolves borders across the continent. And Turkey is one country that wants in. Traditionally a Muslim country, with affiliations more to the east than to the west, there’s understandably some national unease about being roped into the EU. This week, the murder of a judge by an Islamic extremist highlighted how divided many Turks feel about the EU issue. Paul Tsoundarou, Associate Professor in International Politics at Adelaide University talks about how the incident will affect Turkey’s place in the EU queue.
