Millions of Tunisians cast their vote over the weekend in the first democratic elections to come out of the Arab Spring. And although the official results haven’t been announced yet, it looks as though the moderate Islamist party Ennahda has won the biggest share of votes – as much as forty per cent.

This means they’ll dominate in the new parliament, which will draft a constitution over the next year and set up an interim government. After the mass protests that ousted President Zine El-Abedine Ben Ali at the beginning of the year, the pressure is on this assembly to work together and forge a viable democracy.
