Yesterday a bill passed the lower house of federal parliament, stealthily giving the Treasurer power to adjust the superannuation guarantee. Currently, the rate is legislated to rise 3 percent by the end of the decade. But, it’s feared the treasurer Joe Hockey will halt scheduled increases in an effort to shore up the budget, with potentially dire long term consequences.
