We all know that the drought is having a devastating impact on regional Australia but it isn’t necessarily restricted to feeding cattle and sheep. For years now groups like greening Australia and land care have been busy trying to re-green the landscape our ancestors so industriously cleared. As a community we expect farmers and people in regional areas to be planting trees, it’s a bit hard to do that when there is no rain!! Planting is an aspect of the regional community, which is perhaps over looked. David Hair from Land Care Australia explains the impact on community groups and individuals while Allan Hansard gives a business perspective from Tree Plantation Australia.
