The government’s new advertising campaign in support of the carbon tax has kicked off, and Tony Abbott is crying foul. He says that the Labor party should pay for the ads, not the taxpayer, because they’re not about the facts. But despite years of complaint about government advertising from the public and politicians of all stripes, it seems there’s little appetite in the parliament for tightening up the rules.
