How would you feel if you were a farmer coming home from a hard day’s work, only to find out, via a note stuck to your fence, that a mining company was demanding to dig coal seam gas wells on your land? For famers in Northern NSW’s Gurley-Belatta region, this has been the reality. But yesterday, the newly-formed Gurley-Belatta Sustainable Landholders Group became the first group in NSW to agree to block a coal seam gas mining company – Planet Gas- from drilling on their land.
