Suicides at Guantanamo Bay
Amnesty International and other human rights groups have called for a full and independent investigation into the suicides of three men at the US detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The deaths of two Saudis and one Yemeni were confirmed over the weekend and while US authorities have promised a full investigation, their compassion is already in question with onE US official claiming the three men committed suicide as a quote “good PR move to draw attention.” Moves to retract the comments have done little to ally concerns about how open and fair any investigation will be.
