China and India have been accused of stalling negotiations at the world trade organization talks in Geneva. The WTO is an international forum of 153 countries that negotiates multilateral agreements on trade. Disputes over agricultural products have India up against Latin American exporters, while China’s stance on industrial goods has irritated fellow Asian economic powers such as Thailand and Taiwan. The recent talks involve an invite-only group of over 30 WTO members. Even without having to negotiate a deal with all 153 members, a solution to the deadlock is unlikely.
