The Queensland Government recently announced that the remaining 25-million-dollars in stolen Indigenous wages would be used to establish an Education Scholarship Fund. Political activists and elders have slammed this move saying the stolen wages should go to the people they were stolen from. A Stolen Wages Protest Rally was held in Townsville earlier today followed by a meeting with the State member for Mundingburra, Lindy Nelson-Carr. Gemma Snowdon spoke to Gracelyn Smallwood, Chair of the Human Rights Committee in Townsville, soon after the meeting.
