Uncle Conrad Yeatman, with the help of Queensland Unions, has lodged a claim for stolen wages in the district court of Queensland. In 2002 the Beattie Government finally apologised to Indigenous people in Queensland who had worked but never got paid and set up a fifty five million dollar reparation fund. But the case is back in the courts now, with claims that the money has not gone directly to the people who earnt it.
