It is an event that affects the water you drink, the way you get home and what your children learn. It’s the Australian Census. Collected every 5 years, the census is a survey to be filled out by Australian residents on 8th August. The Australian Bureau of Statistics collate the census data… which is in turn used by Government … to assign resources and plan for services in our Communities. For this reason, Dena Dodd-Uugel, State Indigenous Manager wants to see as many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as possible, fill out the census forms properly.
