The theme for NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islander Day of Celebration) 2006 is remember the past – believe the future. But the roots of this and other politcal actions go back to 1920’s.Aboriginal Historian John Maynard believes it is time to shed light on this page of our history. He’s the grand son of Fred Maynard, who was a founding member of the Australian Aboriginal Progressive Association (AAPA) of 1924. And two generations on, John Maynard is passionate about this acknowledgement.
