In December 2015, legislation passed to extend politicians’ time in office in Queensland as long as a referendum passed with voters. The referendum is to be held during local government elections in March. Six weeks before the elections, and no information about the referendum is available. Queensland Greens believe this will bring more cost to the taxpayers and a lot of confusion amongst Queensland voters.
