‘Smoking’ up the Earth’s atmosphere

Data from the World Health Organisation’s Global Ambient Air Quality Database has detected that the Earth’s atmosphere is deteriorating.
More than 97% of people are living in cities in low and middle-income countries, including China and India that are not meeting WHO’s air quality guidelines.
Professor Guy Marks from the Centre for Air Pollution, Energy and Health Research told The Wire that the adverse effects of declining air quality are similar to those who voluntarily inhale the ‘tar’ in cigarette filters.
