Should police provide security for CSG companies?

Questions are being raised about the practice of paying police to provide security for events. Particularly now that one of those events is a coal seam gas protest. The Queensland Greens have called for a ban on police being hired by private interests.

The calls follow media reports that mining company Arrow paid police including members of the armed special service 110 dollars an hour to attend a recent protest against its coal seam gas operations.
