Senate Inquiry finds Government failed asylum seekers

A Senate Inquiry has found the Manus Island Detention Centre riots last February, that resulted in the death of asylum seeker Reza Berati, were preventable. The committee, mostly made up of Labor and Greens, has called on the Australian Government to take responsibility for the incident and to compensate the family of Mr Berati and other asylum seekers who were injured.
