Parliamentary committees are a way to ensure the community are involved in discussions about our rights.

At the beginning of April, the Federal Senate created the Select Committee on COVID-19 to assess how the government is dealing with the crisis.

Each state and territory are creating their own committees to keep governments accountable during the crisis.

But are these committees doing a proper job protecting our rights?
