Scientists warn – Copenhagen needs to talk food

Sixty of the world’s top food security experts today warned that if the Copenhagen climate talks don’t include agriculture the world could go hungry. Bob Clements is former head of the CSIRO’s Division of Tropical Crops and Pastures, and of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research – and also a former farmer. He ‘s one of the signatories of today’s statement and he says the crucial issue is to support the Global Crop Diversity Trust which works to collect a wide range of crop seeds across the world.
