Robin hood budget doesn’t quite follow the script

The federal government has finished its budget, and the signs are that many programs for the least well off in our society will be prioritized. Campaigners pushing for a boost in unemployment benefits look set to be disappointed, but there will be a start to a national disability insurance scheme, and a blitz on waiting lists those who can’t afford to visit a dentist.

Many community sector organisations are relieved that companies and individuals with deeper pockets are being targeted in the budget to fund these new spending initiatives.
