While many programs for disadvantaged Australians look like they’ll be spared in the budget, there are concerns among some NGO’s that foreign aid will be one area which loses out, because of the government’s desire to deliver a surplus this year.
Public pressure is mounting on the government to keep the bipartisan promise to lift our foreign aid target to 0.5 percent of gross national income.
