Refugee Protests in Sydney adapt to COVID-19 Restrictions

Sunday 19th of July marked 7 years since the Australian Government introduced offshore detention on as the primary asylum seeker policy. Response to this anniversary was met by both in-person and online protests, all of which were designed to meet social distancing restrictions. Refugee advocates have employed an adaptive approach to collective action on this issue, raising questions of the COVID-19’s impact on how Australian participate in protest.
