In the midst of what some are calling the renaissance period of Indigenous film and television, a new TV drama, called Redfern Now, is being made.

It’s the first contemporary TV series to be written, directed, commissioned and produced by Indigenous Australians. It’s also breaking new ground by aiming to give a voice to inner-city Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders, who are under-represented in Australian film and television.  ABC television and Screen Australia have collaborated on this project  which has been hatched over a period of twenty years.
