Today marked the launch of the the Indigenous Champion Project at the step of the War Memorial in Adelaide. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs and the Canberra Raiders NRL Club teamed up for the initiative which aims to ensure Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander service people get the recognition and support they deserve. Of the tens of thousands of ex-servicemen, only 4000 Indigenous have been identified and the project aims to uncover their stories.
