The Wire

The Gay and Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Health Alliance was launched in Canberra today, with the aim of pressuring the Federal Government to take into account the rights of what continues to be a marginalised group of people. The alliance, made up of several State and Territories queer organizations, hopes to make their health issues part of political agenda in the upcoming Federal elections. With much recent debate focusing on same sex marriages, financial and legal rights, the Alliance is stressing the importance of equal opportunity for all those ostracized by current government legislation.
