Qantas – the quintessentially Australian airline could soon become not so Australian. The government has proposed to amend the Qantas Sales Act to open the company up to foreign investment. Polling shows that Australians remain opposed to the concept of any foreign investment. But Prime Minister Tony Abbott is gambling on the fact that this latest move will not cause him any political damage.
