Poll results today reveal that Victorian voters may be disengaged with or just don’t care about their political leaders. A JWS Research poll in The Herald Sun found that 40 per cent of voters say they have no particular view of Premier Ted Baillieu and half of those polled had no view of the opposition leader Daniel Andrews. Polling experts say this reflects a nationwide disengagement with politics because leaders don’t highlight issues that affect them directly like the economy, health and education.

Youth advocates say that young people also need a practical issue to engage with because they don’t identify with parties.
